Celebrate the NEW YEAR TWICE at Cape San Blas!

That's right!  Cape San Blas is right on the timeline and you can enjoy bringing in the New Year Twice!

If you're tired of waiting 12 full months for another New Year, head to Gulf County (where Cape San Blas is located).  You can start in the Eastern Time Zone on Cape San Blas, in Port St. Joe or St. Joe Beach & then celebrate all over again just to the west in the central time zone in Mexico Beach!

You can also enjoy fireworks in BOTH Port St. Joe and Mexico Beach!

There is a scavenger hunt as part of the festivities!

Collect complimentary New Year’s Eve promotional favors from businesses in both Port St. Joe & Mexico Beach. Visit each business listed on the above site (see link)

to collect 1 party favor to use when you ring in the New Year twice tonight. Each business will punch your card to verify the collection.

Upon completion of the scavenger hunt, turn in your card to either the Gulf County Welcome Center or the Mexico Beach Welcome Center by 1:00 pm CT on January 2nd , for a chance to win a free 2 night stay for Celebrate Twice 2016!  You can print a form from this page:  http://www.celebratetwice.com/

SHUTTLE SCHEDULE (complimentary):
Shuttles will begin at 8pm Eastern (7pm Central) & end at 3am Eastern (2 a.m. Central)

The last shuttles will run at 3 a.m. Eastern (2 a.m. Central). If you need to get back to where you started, this is your LAST chance to do that!

Of course you can always enjoy fireworks from right on the beach without ever leaving!  We've always enjoyed making a beach bonfire & and relaxing on the beach and bringing in the New Year right now!  We've never been disappointed by the fireworks right there & you can also see them across the coast in the distance as well!

If you don't have reservations this year, we would love to have you bring in the New Year at the beach next year!  You can see links to all of our Cape San Blas Beach Rentals from this page:  http://www.thecapeescape.com/CapeSanBlasVacationRentals.htm

Forgotten Coast Paddle Jam

May 16-18, 2014

On Saturday May 17th, 2014 folks in the Apalachicola Bay area will attempt to set a World Record on the Apalachicola River by "rafting up" over 2,100+ kayaks. The event will take place at the confluence of the Apalachicola River and the Apalachicola Bay, 1/2 mile east of the Apalachicola Bridge.

Forgotten Coast Paddle Jam 2014, is a three-day festival May 16-18th. The Forgotten Coast is unique and diverse ecosystem of water systems, forests, wetlands, coastal environs and human communities. Paddle Jam is a new festival celebrating the Forgotten Coast and helping those in need in a unique way through paddle sports, music & food. Paddle Jam is a “fluid festival” with events happening at various locations in Apalachicola and St. George Island.  So, if you “Love 2 Paddle... Paddle 2 Love," we invite you to join with us at Forgotten Coast Paddle Jam 2014!

During Paddle Jam we will attempt to set a new Guinness WORLD RECORD for the Largest Floating KAYAK RAFT.  The current record was set September 24, 2011, when 1,902 kayaks and canoes assembled on Fourth Lake in Inlet, N.Y.  On Saturday from noon-3:00pm we attempt to break the current record.  Paddle Jam will also showcase live local music and local food, and offer something for people who are passionate about life on the Forgotten Coast.  Proceeds from Saturday kayak events will go to helping “at risk” children, youth and families in need through the Outreach Ministries of the ASGI Cooperative Parish (850) 653-9530
